Coverage of the Michael Jackson memorial service has begun on CNN. Coverage will pick up later on NBC, CBS, MSNBC and E! Entertainment. Thousands of fans began lining up outside the Staples Center before the sun had even risen this morning.

The Jackson family's celebrity guests include Jackson family announced the anticipated guests and speakers to include celebrities Ron Boyd; Kobe Bryant; Andrae Crouch Choir; Berry Gordy; Jennifer Hudson; "Britain's Got Talent" finalist Shaheen Jafargholi; Magic Johnson; Martin Luther King III; Bernice A. King; John Mayer; Lionel Richie; Rev. Al Sharpton; Brooke Shields; Pastor Lucious Smith; Usher; and Stevie Wonder.

The private ceremony is underway at the Hall of Liberty. Afterwards Michael Jackson's body will be processed through the streets and the memorial is scheduled to start at noon central time, though that will probably end up being delayed.

Michael Jackson Funeral Time Set For Tuesday 10 AM; July 7 Memorial at Staples Center


No doubt a lot of eyes will be on the Michael Jackson memorial this week – the Michael Jackson funeral time is set for Tuesday, July 7 at 10 a.m. A number of TV networks will televise the Michael Jackson memorial service live.

NBC, ABC, CBS, CNN, MSNBC, Fox News and E! Entertainment are among the networks that will air the Michael Jackson memorial live from Los Angeles’ Staples Center on Tuesday.

Charles Gibson will provide coverage for ABC, while CBS anchor Katie Couric will be reporting at the Staples Center Tuesday. No word yet on who will provide NBC coverage, but Anderson Cooper, Larry King and Don Lemon will do duty for CNN, with Robin Meade, A.J. Hammer and Jane Velez-Mitchell anchoring for HLN.

Chris Jansing will provide coverage of the Michael Jackson memorial for MSNBC, and Shepard Smith will anchor the Fox News coverage.

1.6 million registered online Friday to get tickets to the memorial; 8,750 were chosen randomly and notified yesterday.

Police are expecting up to a half million people to show up in downtown LA during the memorial event.
