PHOTOS. Here are pictures of Nina and Hans Reiser covered on TV tonight. Hans Reiser’s trial for Nina Reiser’s murder ended in a first degree murder conviction reduced by plea agreement to second degree.
Hans Reiser founded software company Namesys Inc after working at Synopsys, IBM Research, Premos, and ARDC. He now is serving 15 years to life in prison.
July 23 two years ago pretrial motions began in the case of Nina’s death. Resier was represented by William DuBois. DuBois argued that if the jury believed Hans committed the crime they should find for voluntary manslaughter during an act of passion.
It didn’t work for DuBois.
Hans was found guilty of first degree. A subsequent plea agreement gave him 15 years to life. He is currently in Mule Creek State Prison.
